Asia de Cuba
– Chino-Latino Fusion for Tea

Prices are quite steep, but the concept and quality of the offerings make this a very special place indeed.

Although one might think of this restaurant as more of a dinner location, this chic venue also serves other meals. Breakfast and lunch are interesting and inspired here, and you can be sure that you won’t see the same kinds of things offered here at any other London restaurant.

Afternoon tea is an interesting affair. It is served every day here and there are generally at least two different teas to choose from.

Aside from the more ordinary choices of black or green teas, the restaurant has three kinds of flowering teas. Red Amaranth Tea is a blend of green teas with an amaranth flower wrapped around it, Osmanthus Tea is also green teas blended and wrapped in an exotic orange osmanthus flower, and Arabian Jasmine Tea is a concoction of green teas surrounded by fragrant jasmine flowers.

Pastries are also similarly imaginative, a fusion of Asian and Latin flavours that are sure to tempt and perhaps challenge your taste buds.

The St Martin's Lane Hotel’s imaginative décor adds to the afternoon tea experience. It offers sweeping views of London through its floor to ceiling windows, and Philip Stark’s sophisticated design elements make the whole experience quite unique.

In the restaurant itself, tall pillars are hung with photos reflecting a certain theme or style. Tables are simple and comfortable, set with white tablecloths and good cutlery.

The staff is friendly and responsive; there is nothing stuffy or formal about the hotel or the restaurant.

This stylish restaurant is a great place to have a unique afternoon tea.
