Many day trips from London are located within a few hours travel from the city. London is a busy place, the heart and capital of Britain, and it is chock full of things to see and do. However, many travellers seek to see a bit more of the country than they can experience simply touring London.




Happily, there are many places to take short side trips out of London which are easily accessible by car, bus, or train.

Do you love the seaside? Eastbourne is a picture perfect coastal town where you can walk along a remarkably intact Victorian seafront, see the red and white striped lighthouse, and marvel at the chalky white cliffs of Beachy Head (pictured).
