An exclusive London nightclub that you might want to check out is The 100 Club on Oxford Street.
This venue has been a hot spot on the London music scene since 1942. In those days it was a restaurant named Mack's, and drummer Victor Feldman and his band played live jazz on Sunday nights. Word spread that this was the place to come for jazz, and the rest was history.
During the dark days of bombing during World War II, the basement location of the club made it a safe and enjoyable haven for music lovers. The club was later known as the London Jazz Club, then changed to The 100 Club in the 1960s when performances at the club branched out to include blues, R&B, and the Beat scene music.
Through the 1970s, The 100 Club was a huge part of the Punk music scene, and they helped popularize African township jazz in the 1980s.
The 1990s saw the Club promoting the Indie scene, which it continues these days.
The 100 Club has played a vital role in promoting live music in London for many years. Many famous bands and performers have played here over the years, and it has a bit of a reputation as a favoured haunt of "big name" performers.
Both the Rolling Stones and Metallica have hosted secret concerts here, offering fans a low key and unadvertised performance.
The club still has a strong commitment to their live jazz performances, and the London Swing Dance Society has been teaching patrons how to Jive and Jitterbug at the club for over 20 years. The club is a very popular venue, with acts booked for months in advance and very often they sell out quickly so be sure to book as early as you can.
For an exclusive nightclub, The 100 Club is surprisingly friendly and welcoming to all.
