Harvey Nichols in London
– Modern British Chic

Harvey Nichols in London is a thoroughly modern upscale department store on the corner of Knightsbridge and Slone Street. Founded in 1813 as a linen shop by Benjamin Harvey, the company eventually formed a partnership with Colonel Nichols and started selling a range of Oriental rugs and luxury goods along with the linens.

Over the years it has evolved into a premier shopping destination for those looking for the finest in designer goods.

Harvey Nichols, or Harvey Nicks as it is fondly known, has a devoted following amongst the rich, stylish, and trendy; you might see celebrities like Beyonce shopping there, and it has a pleasantly buzzing atmosphere that is quite easy to get caught up in.

Although the store is smaller than some of the other giant London department stores, its lean and modern layout makes it an easier place to navigate and carefully selected stock is testament to the adage “quality over quantity”.

The window displays at Harvey Nichols are quite a work of art. The displays are changed several times a year and are usually quite beautiful and imaginative, integrating clothing and even foods from the store with everything from unusual lighting to motors.

They are riots of colour and fun, with the new arrivals eagerly awaited by those who pass by.

The store stocks three floors of women’s wear, including designs by British designers like Stella McCartney.

Harvey Nichols also has a spa offering cosmetic treatments, a beauty salon, and a personal shopping service to help you select a new wardrobe or find the perfect dress for that special occasion.

There is a very popular restaurant on the fifth floor of the store, serving fine seasonal fare with stylish flair, and a bar and café where you can even get takeaway. Harvey Nichols also has a food market on the fifth floor where they sell an interesting array of fine products.

The ground floor of the store is home to both a Juice Bar and a Champagne Nail Bar, so no matter what your drink preference, there is something to keep you refreshed while shopping.

Harvey Nichols in London is a stylish and fun place to see and be seen.
