The Langham Hotel in London - Palm Court Reigns for Afternoon Tea
The Langham Hotel in London is a lovely old school hotel, and was the first Grand Hotel in Europe when it opened its doors in 1865. The Palm Court restaurant at the Langham has been serving afternoon tea for almost as long, and as you can imagine it is an elaborate and elegant experience.

The Palm Court is a member of the prestigious Tea Guild of the UK Tea Council, and in 2010, they received the Tea Guild’s Top London Afternoon Tea Award, which is the ultimate such award in the country. As a result, the Palm Court has become even more popular than ever, so it is a good idea to make reservations in advance, especially on weekends and other peak times. Rest assured that even with the increased clientele, the professional staff at the Palm Court will do everything they can to make your teatime a relaxed and leisurely experience for everyone. The tea menus at the Palm Court are quite elaborate and varied. There is even a tea sommelier on staff here that will guide you through the selection of your ideal tea. One of the most popular teas on the menu is the Wonderland Tea, which includes your choice of tea, finger sandwiches, scones, and assorted cakes and pastries. Another special treat at the Palm Court is the Bijoux Tea. This tea menu includes preferred teas from the Bijoux Tea list, specialty finger sandwiches like duck egg mayonnaise, and smoked Scottish salmon. The highlight of the Bijoux Tea is the dessert selection which are delectable little jewel-box creations. For those who fear they might need something even more substantial, the 1865 High Tea menu includes your choice of tea, cold canapés and champagne, soup and an egg dish, followed by a selection of luscious desserts. The Langham Hotel in London has a very special restaurant in the Palm Court.
