The London Bridge Experience
- History Hollywood-Style

The London Bridge Experience is located below the London Bridge and is a relatively new attraction, having opened to the public in 2008. It is part museum, part historic attraction, and all entertainment.

London Bridge Experience

The venue is owned by Lee and Danny Scriven , two brothers who grew up less than a mile from the London Bridge.

Development and construction of the site was a massive undertaking costing more than £2 million, much of that spent on state of the art Hollywood-style sets recreating the history of the bridge.

The site made news when human remains were found during excavation under the bridge; it seems the vaults beneath were used as tombs and plague pits over the centuries. Many of the skulls found had holes driven through them, indicating that perhaps they were once some of the unlucky heads that ended up displayed at London Bridge on spikes as a warning to all potential criminals.

William Wallace was the first such executed prisoner to have his head displayed in this manner, and the London Bridge Tour Experience tells his story with recreated sets and live characters portraying the historical figures.

The bridge and its role during the time of the Romans and Vikings is covered, and well as the Great Fire of London and the times in history when the river froze solid and fairs were held on the thick ice surrounding the bridge.

This is an interactive experience, so be prepared to pitch in and join the fun. The state of the art sets and trained performers are sure to keep you entertained, and do expect there to be a few surprises along the way.

Children of 4 years and under are admitted free, and it is open seven days a week. The tour takes about 45 minutes and you can also enjoy refreshments on site at their restaurant, Café Brood.

The London Bridge Tour Experience is an very exciting and innovative way to learn about one of the most interesting structures in London.
