London Visa Services
- Will You Need a Visa for Your Trip?

London visa services can be an important element for those travellers who are coming to the UK from other countries. International travel tends to be a bit more complicated than domestic travel due to all the rules and regulations involved in going from one country to another.

London Visa

Depending on the relations your own country has with the UK, the process of travel from your home to London can either be a fast and easy event or it can involve a fair bit of paperwork, advance planning, and administrative fees.

Travellers from other European Union countries and Switzerland have the easiest time of all when it comes to visiting London; no visa is required for these citizens and they are even free to work and live in the city with no restrictions.

Citizens of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada do not normally need a visa when coming for a short visit to the UK, which is defined as a term of less than six months. These citizens will need a valid passport from their home country, proof that they have enough funds to support themselves during their stay, and proof of their intention to return to their own country.

Visitors from other countries will need to apply for a visa to visit the UK when planning their trips to London. You can enquire about visa applications at the British Embassy, Consulate, or High Commission in your home country, and they will be able to give you the proper information about the paperwork and documents required for this application.

Getting your visitors visa for the UK should take about 2 weeks, but it would probably be wise to budget at least 4 weeks for processing, just in case of unforeseen delays.

Travellers applying for visas should be aware that most applicants are now required to supply “biometric” information, namely a digital photograph and digital fingerprints, that will be collected at the visa application centre.

London visa services in 2010 cost approximately £68, payable in the local currency equivalent.
