When you are in London with kids, make sure to visit the Peter Pan inspired Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground.
London with kids just wouldn't be the same without a visit to this magical playground. It is like a little Neverland in the heart of the city.
Why not bring your children here and watch them enjoy themselves in this safe environment.
It was opened on 30th June 2000 and is located beside Diana's Kensington Palace home. The playground is free to enter and over 750,000 children play here every year.
One of the main attractions is a huge, wooden pirate ship which is surrounded by a beach of clean white sand. The adults can sit and relax while the children play with this giant ship. There are tepees in the playground, a sensory trail and lots of trees and plants.
I think this playground is a great place to be if you are in London with kids as they can develop their imaginations here. Nobody wants their child stuck indoors all day playing computer games. It just isn't healthy. This fantastic venue allows your child to dash about in the fresh air and get lots of exercise.
Another great advantage of the playground is the fact that it is also designed for children who are less able-bodied. Even if your child is in a wheelchair, you will find that much of the equipment has been designed for them in mind.
During opening hours, the playground is permanently attended, so there is no need to worry about the safety of your little darlings. And in case of any accidents, there is always a member of staff on hand who is trained in First Aid. However, it is up to you as a parent or carer to supervise your children here and make sure they are not left unaccompanied. For the safety of the children only registered Assistance Dogs are allowed in the park.
If you get hungry, there is a cafe that serves salads, sandwiches and drinks and there is also a special children's menu. Of course, there are toilet facilities including disabled and baby changing facilities.
