Oxo Tower Restaurant in London
- Terrace Dining at its Best

Oxo Tower Restaurant

The Oxo Tower Restaurant in London is located on the eighth floor of the Oxo Tower building in South Bank. The view here is magnificent, and as such, one might assume that the food is a bit of an afterthought.

The rule seems to be that the better the view, the worse the food, or at least the more neglected the menu tends to be. Happily, this is not the case with the Oxo Tower Restaurant. The food here is outstanding, and more than a match to its amazing environment.

Dining on the terrace is not a sure thing, weather and space permitting, but even from the inside the view is quite good. If you can get a table on the terrace, you should take it even if the weather is a bit chilly. The restaurant staff will cheerfully hand out blankets to terrace diners who are feeling cold.

One of the best times to book a table here is during events like the November 5th celebration that include fireworks, as this is one of the finest seats in the city from which to enjoy such festivities.

The Oxo Tower Restaurant has a Children's Menu which is a bit unusual for a fine dining establishment, but no doubt a welcome addition for families who have gathered together for a special night and who have little ones who would rather eat roast chicken or fish fingers than the more exotic adult selections.

Those with more sophisticated palates are likely to enjoy the Sea bass with poached oysters, ink linguine and Champagne sauce or the Roast lamb rack with braised belly, sweetbreads, cassoulet beans, and tomato fondue.

Those who really feel like splashing out can take advantage of the Chef’s Tasting Menu, a five course dinner developed specially by Head Chef Jeremy Bloor. On Sundays there is a traditional set price Sunday Roast option at lunchtime.

The Oxo Tower Restaurant in London is a very special destination.
