Primrose Hill in London is located on the north side of Regent's Park. The hill affords a great view of central London to the southeast, and it is a very popular location for picnics and park outings.
When special events take place in London, such as fireworks displays or the New Years Eve festivities, Primrose Hill is a prime location from which to take in the event.
The Primrose Hill area is a textbook example of a successful urban "village" in London, with a good ratio of residential and commercial properties allowing for an excellent quality of life and sense of community for its residents.
The park itself really has few amenities, just some benches and plenty of room to spread out. The view of London is quite spectacular, and worth the trip itself. The park is a nice getaway from the more crowded nearby Regent's Park, and the perfect place for those seeking a bit more peace and quiet than things to do.
The area itself has always been quite fashionable with Londoners, now more than ever it seems.
Many young London celebrities call this area home, so do keep an eye out for famous people. Director Tim Burton lives in Primrose Hill, as do actors Jude Law, Helena Bonham Carter, Rachel Weisz, and Ewan McGregor.
Singers Gwen Stefani, Geri Halliwell, and Adam Ant also call Primrose Hill home. Even celebrity chef Jamie Oliver hangs his hat in Primrose Hill, so you can safely assume the food in the area is quite good!
As one might expect, the influx of celebrity residents has turned this area into a very trendy and expensive place to live. Don't let this put you off visiting, however, as Primrose Hill is quite a delightful and welcoming location indeed.
Primrose Hill in London is a very family-oriented park, so expect to see lots of parents with their children here as well. There are quite a few nearby boutiques, book shops, and cafés for those looking for some refreshment or a bit of a browse.
