Prince Charles Cinema - Cheap Seats for Great Films
The Prince Charles Cinema is a very special sort of theatre. Located on a side street in Leicester Square, this independent movie house easily holds its own against the big chain movie theatres that dot the area.

In years gone by, this location was used as a performance theatre and as a venue for adult films, but since 1991 it has grown to become one of the most influential forces in the London independent cinema scene. It has a cult following of Londoners who eagerly buy memberships both to show their support for the Prince Charles Cinema and to get tickets discounted from their already very reasonable rates. The Prince Charles has two screening areas, the upstairs and the downstairs. The upstairs shows current releases from popular cinema, and tickets generally cost a bit more for these kinds of movies. Downstairs the offerings might also be recent releases, but delayed a few weeks from their debut screenings. This time delay makes all the difference in costs to the theatre, so if you don’t mind waiting a few weeks you can get a bargain rate here, even for blockbuster films. The other staples of the downstairs cinema at the Prince Charles are cult classics, independent films, and theme movie nights. The cinema doesn’t just have great prices, they have an imaginative and inspired selection of films, and most weeks are screening between 10 and 20 different movies per week. Once a month at the Singalonga you can dress up and sing along with “The Sound of Music” or “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Once a week, the cinema bar serves two-for-one drinks and a feel-good movie to make your after work hours more enjoyable. For the ultimate in bargains, each week the cinema chooses a film showing to offer as a “Golden Ticket”, which means tickets will cost only £1. The Prince Charles is truly a unique experience.
