Top Rated Restaurants in London
- The Quirky 06 St Chad's Place

Restaurants London

Top rated restaurants in London like 06 St Chad's Place are fun to discover. Hidden behind the Thameslink in King's Cross, this restaurant looks rather industrial from the outside.

Inside, things are also a bit stark and industrial; exposed brick walls and melamine chairs pulled up to long cafeteria-style tables, albeit lovely wooden ones, give the feel of an Industrial Revolution-era banqueting hall, or perhaps Hogwarts dining hall done on the cheap.

This was once an abandoned mechanic’s workshop that was renovated by the architectural firm Squire and Partners, so it does have something of a design theme going on. There are some very lovely touches here like exposed structural beams, glass skylights and massive paned windows that dominate the wall space.

This restaurant is open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Breakfast is a simple yet pleasant affair at 06 St Chad’s Place, Free-range Eggs done as you like with a variety of sides, Bagels, Porridge and also Granola with Greek Yoghurt.

The lunch menu changes weekly, and is small but interesting. Light offerings like Bruschetta of Soft-Herring Roe with a Mustard Dressed Parsley and Dill Salad or Market Salad of Globe Artichoke, Roast Baby Aubergine, Dressed Broadbeans, Grilled Courgette, Baby Spinach and Ricotta Cakes share space with the more hearty Ploughmans of Pork Terrine with various cheeses, Piccacilli, Apple, Bread and Mixed Leaf or Pan-Roast Chicken with Creamy Mash, Roast Beetroot and Tarragon Aioli.

Free wifi at 06 St Chad’s Place makes it a good place to get a bite to eat and surf the web or even get a bit of work done while enjoying something from their extensive array of coffees and teas.

The evening menu is tapas-style; small dishes so you can order a few of them and try a bit of everything. Salmon Frittata, Lamb and Rosemary Sausages and the Italian Meat and Cheese Platters are all good choices from the tapas menu.

Top rated restaurants in London are seldom as straightforward and imaginative as 06 St Chad's Place.
