Thorpe Park Rides
- Thrill-seeker's Paradise

Thorpe Park Rides

Thorpe Park rides are something the whole family can have fun enjoying. There are a variety of rides at this theme park, from the very tame to the extremely wild, so you can be sure everyone in your group can find something that they will enjoy here.

Thorpe Park officially opened in 1979 and for the first ten years offered a variety of entertainments and water-themed rides. In 1989, the park was bought by Tussauds and the rides got a bit wilder as it was decided to develop it as a real thrill-ride park.

At the main entrance to the park is Port Atlantis, a marine-themed area that houses guest services such as gift shops, restrooms, and a bar and restaurant. This area was once called the Mountbatten Pavilion.

The largest area of the park is called The Lost City and has a Mayan theme. This area is home to many of the parks most famed rides, such as the Colossus with its 10 inversions and X:\ No Way Out, the world's first and only roller coaster that runs backwards and in the dark.

The Canada Creek area is the site of log flumes and a miniature railway as well as SAW - The Ride which is a terrifying horror-themed roller coaster.

The Amity Cove area at the park is where you will find the Stealth, an Accelerator Coaster that reaches the amazing speed of 80 mph in 1.3 seconds.

For families with younger children, Thorpe Park has several areas that will be of interest. Ranger County is Thorpe Park's original family area with a large swinging Banana Ride and a Carousel.

Neptune's Kingdom and the Octopus Garden are the locations in the park where you will find many rides for smaller children, including water slides and a wading pool.

To make things even easier for families, the park offers buggy hire and baby change rooms.

Thorpe Park has partnered with local hotels to offer vacation packages that give you admission tickets and hotel rooms at reduced rates.

Thorpe Park rides run seven days a week from mid March to early November.
