Waterstone's Bookstore
- Flagship Branch in Piccadilly

Waterstone's Bookstore is a London landmark like no other. Their first branch of this famed bookstore chain opened in 1982 was located on Old Brompton Road in London.

Waterstones Bookstore

They profess a singular mission: to keep their customers excited and inspired to read and enjoy great books. Their success at this mission is no accident, as the individual bookstores go to great lengths to address the needs of their customers.

No two Waterstone's bookshops are the same, as each are stocked with a range of books that reflect the demands of customers as well as an array of recommended reads which are carefully selected by their knowledgeable and discerning staff. If you know what you want, they probably have it in stock at Waterstone's.

The more than 4,500 booksellers who make up the staff of Waterstone's have a genuine enthusiasm for books and reading, so even if you stop in not knowing exactly what you want, they are likely be able to suggest something just perfect for you.

The Piccadilly branch of Waterstone's is a wonder to behold. It is housed in the former Simpson’s Department Store in the heart of the West End, which is a lovely London landmark.

Fans of British television will be interested to note that Simpson’s was inspiration for the much-beloved and long-running BBC comedy “Are You Being Served”.

Six floors of this massive building are stocked with the more than 150,000 titles that make up the voluminous inventory at Waterstone's. When you tire of browsing the miles of shelving, there is also a coffee bar and a cocktail bar open to the public at Waterstone's.

Being the largest bookshop in Europe has its advantages; Waterstone's has played host to numerous signings with authors as famous and diverse as President Clinton, Eoin Colfer, and David Beckham.

Waterstone's is a fantastic place to spend some time browsing and enjoying everything a fine bookshop has to offer.
